35, but you got one of the artists correct but the song title wrong.
Allegedly the first rap song.
Damned if I can remember the title but can 'see' the video.

I am sure I will feel silly with most of the others but truth be told I rarely listen to lyrics.

Lines from songs you ought to know.
5 points for the song title, 2 points for any recognisable band that sang it.
Please put your answers in a 'spolier' so others can't see them.

I'll post the answers late on Sunday :)

In order to fully expose my music memory deficiency, which is now on display with the daily heardle, I decided to cheat and read Neil's answers :-D I duly discovered only two songs which I should have got from my days of music loving.
Spoiler: show
They were Hotel California by The Eagles and Ride a White Swam from T Rex!
So now I stand stripped of musical dignity but firmly of the belief that I gave up listening when music became more noise than melody!! ( That is an opinion, not a proven fact :-D )
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

You will have discovered, like me when I read your post about the artist you remembered, that I was right song wrong artist on that one. Close but no cigar for me, the artist I plumped for did do a very similarly-titled song!

PS and in fascination for me the song had a who's who of session musicians including the wonderful Larry Carlton on Guitar ( a stalwart of Becker and Fagen's Steely Dan recording sessions (and number 3 on Rick Beato's best guitar solos for "Kid Charlemagne") and Wilton Felder and Joe Sample from the Crusaders.

Worldle Wordle Nerdle Heardle

My scores
Fail on worldle 2232km was as close as I got, 4, 5, and the heardle "song" took far too long to get to the point and nothing in the first 16 seconds to get it.!

Yes, that Hearlde gave us a better chance. I got it too :-D Had the song but TT's version was popping into my head but wasn't on the list, then I was prompted by a bit of assistance to go for the original artist.

Worldle Wordle Nerdle Heardle

My scores
Fail on worldle 2,975km was as close as I got, 5, 4 , and the heardle "song" got the artist, selected the song from the drop down list, and bingo got it in 16 secs. As it turns out 800,000,000 views on youtube for the song so quite a popular song with the masses :-D
