Re: P1210 fuel pressure regulator fault
Id say they would be solenoid injectors in the xantia given the age. If you have anything over 2008 there's a strong chance they are piezo. I didn't catch the chaps name but I will check them I think at this stage the fault is mechanical in the injectors possibly failed valves but I won't know until I drop them off.

Re: P1210 fuel pressure regulator fault
That was an interesting watch.
Although he mentions it will give a fault code, that is purely for the electrical side so you could have a seized injector but the electrical side is actually fine because there is a disconnect between the electrical and mechanical side of the injectors. The piezo crystals could be happily expanding and contracting and not report a fault.

Re: P1210 fuel pressure regulator fault
I agree, ok so I tried the last injector that I had in cylinder 1 and she started she is very smokey a lot of engine/injector knock and stinks so I don't think I have any reliable injectors. I tried testing them the way he did but I must be doing it wrong because I couldn't get any of them to show 200000 ohms or anything close to it. I'm going to bring over the injectors at the end of the month and swap them for refurbished ones. I've had enough messing around.

I do however have a new symptom she is pooling diesel around the injectors so potentially new feed pipes from all the messing around with them as well.

Re: P1210 fuel pressure regulator fault
I have tested 5 injectors, so far the way he suggests and I keep getting 0 ohms across the pins however I am getting infinity from the pins to the body. This indicates these injectors are completely dead. I am hoping there are a couple of good injectors in the engine. I haven't pulled them yet to test them. I can't get enough access to test them on the car.

If these are the injectors you’ve removed, they cannot be dead as it was running albeit smoking.
I assume that you disconnected them?
I’d bet access is tough.

Yes, true I don't know anymore. I think I just need to get them tested. Access wise it's not great but sufficient for removing thrm. There is a gap for each injector between the plenum piping. I will let you know when I know more.

Re: P1210 fuel pressure regulator fault
Ok but before you do that. Either check your relative compression with that low tech test my mate mentioned or do a proper compression test if you have the kit. Low tech test is fine.
You’d be REALLY upset if you had the injectors done and it turned out to be low compression.
Good luck. We wait with bated breath.

Re: P1210 fuel pressure regulator fault
Ok so I finally got around to doing a relative compression test and the trace was good all cylinders were at the same level so happy the engine itself is in good condition . sorry for the delay.
