There were rumours the the new C5 was to be built by Opel in Germany and would be in essence an Insignia

Now that would be very ugly... The rear end of an Insignia is horrible. I have the horrible experience of living next door to one and the engine sounds like a bag of nails and has since new...

I had a 1.8i in the early 90s and to be honest it was not a bad car. Quite functional as a family car... Did a lot of caravan towing with it too..
