I find something else, you can see, the lever must be facing downwards.

I’ve checked the position multiple times and it’s facing the right way. I’ve also tried the another sensor not bolted to the car and the car still won’t move up or down when I turn it. Tried it the same in the rear and the car raises or lowers without a problem.

The front lights react when I turn the height sensor and the pump starts. The voltage was about 3.8 in the front and rear when measured with the sensor disconnected. About 0.10 on 2# and 3# both front and rear

So, then I come back at my suspect that the pomp unit is changed with a wrong one for this car.
The BHI is not the right one. Some people think, there all the same, which is not the case.

The previous owner told the that the mechanics diagnosis was the that it was something to do with the stiffness regulator. I do not know more than that.
Can you check somehow if the bhi is incorrect?

Maybe, pls send me the vin and rpo number and motor type and also 4/ 5 door saloon as a private message and I will see what I can find.
Also try to find if there is a number of the pomp itself.

Pomp number is the right one.
Here also the principal working of the stiffness regulator, if you think there's the problem, this can only check, by disconnect "B" then here should the LDS come out constan, but notice, this is the return to the LDS tank, so if you disconnect this line, make sure to block it.

If I’m not mistaken there is a way to manually depressurise the front suspension on the hydraulic block. Could this be open so the front suspension doesn’t build up pressure?

@furriegurrie: that's right, but where is the LDS then going?

I don’t know the internals of the hydraulic block but it could be that it just returns the oil to the reservoir.

Something similar happens if you slacken the 12 mm bolt on the hydraulic pump of for instance an Xm, Xantia, BX or a DS. Totally different hydraulic system of course but just to give an example of a bypass/return of oil to the reservoir.

@furriegurrie: no, that's not the case, its "b" on the picture I placed before where you can see how the stiffness regulator work. But also it's not possible to work on the front regulator, you have to remove the subframe for it. Therefore is the same nippel on top of the right suspension strut. You can with this one release the pressure, but connect a plastic hose on it so you can put this back in the LDS tank.

I look into the schematic.
Pls check line/wire from 7702 to 7715 and specially M21/MC21. This is a ground connection on the chassis.
This good be the error U2118.
Between pin #1 and 3 must be 5V and you mentioned before a lower voltage.

It's possible that MC21 is at the opposite side.
