Hi Rob, I have the socket assembly in where the cigar lighter goes so nice and tidy looking.I just need to wait for the usb stick to arrive and hopefully it will work and do the mic

Nice. I run an almost-flush charger there so can't use that slot myself.

Hmm, I would love to have access to a 3D printer but unfortunately I don't. I would probably cause a bit of an environmental disaster with all the rejects though so maybe best I don't.. There is a chap on YouTube who has tried a few different 3D bits in his C5. They are an excellent bit of kit. I especially like the UV resin type. They are really cool

Design rejects are part of the process. The parts themselves don't actually use all the much filament, all the printed bits for the cup holder are something like a total of 100g. The most common type of filament is PLA which is actually made mostly from corn starch and is biodegradable. Though for bits to go in a car PETG is a better material as it's more resilient to UV and temperature cycles. I can't justify buying a resin printer though. My regular FDM printer is more than enough for my needs.

I know I just have a bit of OCD when it comes to cars so imperfections drive me nuts. Do recommend a make I was thinking on buying a delta type printer. Like you can't justify a UV one

Deltas aren't great because their print volume is quite limited for their physical size, and they print in a circular footprint. My Mk1 Ender 3 Pro hasn't set a foot wrong in the 6 or so years I've had it. It was churning out visor frames for the NHS during the pandemic like there was no tomorrow.

Hmmm ok thanks for the heads up. I was lead to believe deltas were better and faster I might see if I can get something like what you had suggested. I got the usb working and ended up routing the mic up the driver side pillar.
