Alright, thanks to all the information you guys provided, I think I have a new game plan.

I’ll move up to a higher class where I can relocate the radiator to the back of the car. I’ll install the one from the Xsara, which is significantly larger. I also believe that the longer water hoses, which will hold a lot of water themselves, might help reduce heat soaking.

I’ll start by running it without a thermostat since I expect the water will slow down quite a bit in the longer hoses. If that doesn’t solve the issue, I’ll try partially blocking off the thermostat housing.
I just hope the waterpump can keep up.. 🙏

Back again with updates. 😁

Like I said, I moved the radiator to the back and reinstalled the old one. It no longer overheats; in fact, it runs a bit cold (around 80°C) and after a race, it's around 90°C. So I won’t put the thermostat back in.

Now, does anyone know something about tuning a TU5 8v on the cheap? 😅
Should I make a new post for this?
