Was the dashboard lit up before you unlocked the car or did it light up when you unlocked it? I suppose you're using the remote control key fob to lock and unlock the car but what happens if you use the key in the door lock barrel?FurryCurrySauce wrote: 24 Jul 2024, 11:38Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem with my 2004 Picasso, basically the dashboard comes on even when the car is not running and the key isn't even in the ignition, look at the picture that I took yesterday morning just as I got in the car.

I don't have a remote control key, I use a normal key to get in the car. I've never noticed the dashboard on when I'm not in the car and locked, but some times (but not very often) it comes on when I unlock the car and I'm sat down.

My guess is that it is a power control fault in the dashboard. If you can find a second hand dashboard with lower mileage, then it would be worth trying that. Reminder that fitting a dashboard with higher milage will permanently increase the mileage of your car.

There may be respectable companies who can legitimately reset the mileage on a dashboard back to zero. Then, when it is connected up to a vehicle, it will receive the mileage from the other ECU systems. You would have to search for such companies.

Hi!
I have the same problem! The lights starts often when i open a door, or ignite the car. The dashboard has also changed during driving, but not so often as if i open the the door or ignite the car. I also open the car with my key, cause the remote thing dosent work anymore.

I've managed to get a new dashboard but it was a higher milage than mine,

it was the only 1 I could find. Would an offical Citroen mechanic help me reset it, or is it something that they'll refuse to do.

Official Citroen tools cant reset the milage.
You need to find someone that does milage ‘correction’

Did the new instrument panel solve the problem?

If you are going to fit the new one, before I would take a photo of your existing one showing its mileage and then when the new one is put in. It might help if you need to explain the increase for insurance purposes (assuming you have a mileage limit on your policy) and servicing records.
Your car will adopt the higher mileage of the new part and it you decide to put your old one back, this will also adopt this higher mileage so no going back to the current lower mileage unless you find somebody who can do the correction.

Hi guys, just a little update, I've changed the dashboard to a new one and all seems to be working as normal now. So I would say the problem is solved.
Thanks for all the help, it was the first time I've had a real problem in my picasso

Hi
Did you solve the problem with adjust the mileage? My car has the same problem 2004 and only have 16,000 km. Is there any diffrence which year the display/speedometer was made? Do i need a 2004 model, just like my car?

Hi!
I have another question.
I'm searching for spare parts, found some of them through right article number. All seems well but does it matter if the dashboard comes from a automatic car? I have a manuell.
Thanks in advance

Hi, you need to take out your dashboard and have a look at the code you have on the back of it. There are a few different ones so you need to be really careful wish one you order, some have just 1 blue connectar and some other have 2 connectors, 1 black and the other blueMewk93 wrote: 18 Aug 2024, 19:00 Hi
