Ok, so let me explain to avoid misinformation / misunderstanding:- the engine ECU does NOT inject additive when the fuel filler cap is opened. That is just a magnet that sends a signal to the Engine ECU / additive ECU (depending on system and year) to say 'I have been opened and some fuel may have been put in'.

All this does is request that the engine ECU take a real time measurement of the fuel level and perform the calculations to determine how much fuel has been added if at all. This ensures correct dosing.

This is because the fuel level is not always measured all the time - it remembers the values. So the fuel cap just says that fuel may have been added, so do a physical measurement.

Did anyone get this solved ? I have exactly the same issue except my van goes into limp mode.
