no..this is not starter isu, the problem is my car lost power after over night,, no indicator, no light and of cost cant startArmidillo wrote: 13 Nov 2023, 07:45 So your starter motor is not responding when you turn the key, and the battery is not flat. Sounds like a faulty starter motor. Could be
a) starter solenoid not working (try whacking the starter with a hammer)
b) magnets have come unglued from starter housing, preventing the armature from rotating (don't whack it...)
I had both of these happen last year (on Peugeots - admittedly a bit older than your C5).
Easiest solution is to post up your VIN and ask Mark (GiveMeABreak) for the starter motor part number (you'll need to make a donation to the forum first). Once you know the part number you can go shopping for a replacement. I find Spareto very good at sending parts quickly to Australia - Alvadi is good too - so both should be able to send parts to you in Malaysia.
Cheers

xantia_v6 wrote: 13 Nov 2023, 08:45 It might not be that simple, the ignition switch is not directly connected to the starter solenoid, the signal goes to the BSI, which decides if the starter should operate, and then to a relay in the BSM, before going to the solenoid.
It is not clear to me whether all the warning lights are coming on normally when the ignition is switched on. If not, then that should be investigated before looking at the starter circuit.
No indicator lights and like the power from the battery only goes to the fuse box and not to the starter or anything related including the cabin and lights on the meter

Re: No Power Affter Park Overnight
Perhaps a clamp meter might help to locate the current drain.
They can be rather expensive but it would need one that can detect dc current at low voltages.
If you disconnect your battery, does it hold a voltage overnight? Shouldn't lose more than about half a volt if it is in good condition

My challenge is that it doesn't directly touch the battery volt strength, the battery is still full and strong.. but there is no indication that the power is channeled to the fuse box.myglaren wrote: 13 Nov 2023, 11:51 Perhaps a clamp meter might help to locate the current drain.

no clue,
I change a new battery then it is ok but after overnight it will happen again even though the battery is in good condition

Re: No Power Affter Park Overnight
Just to confirm, after being left overnight when you attempt to start you turn ignition on & there are no dash lights but the battery is still showing good voltage?
If this is the case you need to first check that both battery terminals are clean & tight, Main earths to chassis & engine are clean & tight. The main positive connection to the under bonnet fuse is clean & tight. If that's all ok my first suspicion would be an under bonnet fuse box fault.

Economy mode should not affect engine or external lights. This range of symptoms would indicate that there is likely an issue with one of the fuse boxes, or the wiring to them.

Yes I have found the problem...the glitch on the BSI box...very sad...
thanks to all brothers and Sis to helping me..

true .. it is related to the BSI boxxantia_v6 wrote: 13 Nov 2023, 17:37 Economy mode should not affect engine or external lights. This range of symptoms would indicate that there is likely an issue with one of the fuse boxes, or the wiring to them.

How have you come to the conclusion the BSI is the problem?

Are you sure it's the BSI and not the BSM (the fusebox)?

i already tried changing the BSM box, still the same thing happens and no power connector from the BSI box
