Did mine a while ago, made a very short 8mm tool with a nut welded to it to fit between subframe and gearbox, then a channel from plasticine or bluetack. Still managed to make a mess!

Thanks Steve, my 8mm square socket fits into draining plug but subframe is in the way hence the hole idea. Other option is buy 8mm square bar and make my own key.

That is just what I did, Made it as short as possible, 8mm bar welded into a 10mm nut to use a 17mm spanner, once it is loose the nut is a decent size to use fingers on.KennyW wrote: 29 Aug 2023, 15:54 Thanks Steve, my 8mm square socket fits into draining plug but subframe is in the way hence the hole idea.
