Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
Sent the car for a diagnostics session yesterday. They came back telling me that they only found 2 fault codes (P0181 and P0183) as opposed to the list of 7 I had previously. Probed it earlier today, and sure enough, most of the codes are gone. I only detected 3, the two existing ones and P0112. Not sure if they cleared the rest and lied to me or if they somehow self cleared. The car still has the stuttering issue. Though maybe I'm imagining it, but the engine feels slightly more peppy / responsive than before. Anyway, I took the car back as they charged me £125 to tell me less than what I already knew (they failed to repro or address other issues I mentioned despite my specific instructions on how to repro), so I'll be taking it to someone hopefully more competent at some point.

Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
So you have a bad fuel temperature sensor on the fuel pump it looks like a coolant temperature sensor. and intake air temperature sensor which is part of the MAF so check wiring to the two of them if damaged repair it. If not replace the MAF and fuel temperature sensor, should sort it out.

Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping, that it's only sensors. I actually went back out a moment ago to probe the fuel pressure again as I forgot earlier today. No weird dips like before. Would you happen to know why / how the other codes got cleared? They were permanent and I couldn't clear them and the Citroen-authorised place didn't mention clearing anything.
Marc, if you're still following this thread, could you please tell me where on the engine I can find the sensors Darbuck mentioned? Thanks.

Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
They possibly cleared them individually did you try clearing with engine on or off. Fuel temperature sensor is down the side of the ECU box under the high pressure pump on the gearbox side of the engine.its green but the coolant temperature sensor is down there aswell and is also green. The fuel temperature sensor is vertically mounted and screws out the coolant temperature sensor is horizontally mounted and held in with a clip. Be prepared for a good bit of diesel spillage and it's awkward to get at.

Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
Thanks for the info, I'll probably leave that for a mechanic to do as I don't trust myself to not screw something up. As for clearing the codes, I tried to clear 2 or 3 of them (one of them being gone now) with the engine running and it gave me clearing erros on all of them, thus I didn't bother with the remaining 4 or 5.

If you're not comfortable with it you are probably better leaving it to someone else. Replace the sensor and most of them will probably clear.

Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
Looks like this thread got hit pretty badly by my account deletion/reinstatement. Last few posts seem to have been nuked. Off the top of my head, I think I posted that I took it to a Citroen-authorised place. They couldn't find anything and read fewer error codes than I read and gave them. When I got it back, their claims seemed to be true. That was odd because the codes that were missing were not ones I could clear and all they did was a diagnostics session. Not sure if they somehow cleared them and didn't tell me about it. Either way, they didn't fix anything and the car still stuttered.
Now for new content:
I'm still trying to get to the bottom of the issue, but I haven't spent much time on it (if any to be honest). I took it to yet another authorised place last month and they said that they didn't read any codes at all (though in general they were totally incompetent). Again, I don't know if they somehow cleared codes that I and another garage couldn't. I haven't rescanned the car to see if they're lying to me yet again, but it absolutely still stutters. They claimed they couldn't repro it on their test drive, I managed to get it to stutter about 6 mins after picking it up when they were done with it.

Re: [C5 X7] Multiple ignition / injection fault codes.
Time to exhume this thread. As an aside, think it's missing a page or so of posts because of my accidental account deletion (that and a job rejection were a fun email combo to wake up to on Xmas day LMAO).
I had the fuel pressure regulator (193339) replaced on Tuesday. I managed to drive it ~210 miles between then and my temporary insurance expiring on Friday. By all accounts it seems to be fine, no more stuttering. I also hooked it up to Diagbox today and all the fault codes under Injection/Ignition are gone even after multiple scans. I don't know if it's just because I've had 6 months off from driving it and I've just forgotten, but the engine seems a touch more responsive than before.
Now I'm just kind of annoyed that I won't get to reap the benefits of finally getting this sorted because I'll be putting the car up for sale soon. LOL

Ok, since the thread is actually working for the time being, I can post the update I tried to post yesterday.
