C4 ad blue/emissions fault/service light

Hi folks would anyone know when the warranty would start from

I have date of registration- January
Date of first licencing - November

Marc just been going through the books with a fine tooth comb and on the warranty book it says " the Citroen contractual warranty takes effect from the effective day of delivery of the new vehicle to the customer"

The date the care was first licensed was November 2018 surely that would be the start date

Also I don't know if it helps me the dealer has not filled out or stamped the first page of the booklet

I have this date based on the VIN you provided - which stores all your vehicle's build data and warranty 'effective from' info. This is what is states, but legally, you could, I suppose, argue the date as being from the handover date.

Head office rang down they will supply new tank only I've to cover labour...... I will take that

I had the same issue. Bought car in 2020 within 3 months emissions fault lights up. It was just outside the 5 year mark but the did replace the adblue tank out of good will. Fast forward to today. 3 years and 1 month later the same fault lights are on. I do have AA warranty on it. But so I try my luck again with Citroen seeing as it's looking like the same problem that they replaced the tank for 3 years ago. Car has just turned 8 and done 83k

I doubt you will get it replaced again, but it's worth having it checked to see if it is exactly the same issue or not, as there can be more than one reason why the emissions light can come on. It really needs a diagnostic on the vehicle to determine the cause as it may be the UREA injector or a blockage somewhere and not necessarily the tank itself.

Ad blue is some gimmick....the amount of garages in our town doing the "turn it off" option ....it seems to be a wide spread issues and they all know about it ... hopefully we trade our car in the next year or two

It's not a gimmick at all, it's to enable the cars to meet the latest emissions regulations by eliminating about 90% of the NOx emissions and turning these into water.

Apart from the illegality of doing so, their NOx emissions will be up and they risk failing their NCT, plus the insurance invalidity implications as I've mentioned may times.

SCR systems will be here until we are all forced into electric as they are part of the newer Euro 6.** regulations, so most later Euro 6.** diesel vehicles will have them. Use Anti Crystallisation treatment when topping up the Adblue tank and don't let it get too low before refilling.
