Re: C3 possible BSI failure

Unread post by Aliboy8124 »

Hiya, brand new to the Citroen world and I have just purchased a 2010 C3 1.4VT.
First thing I noticed was the reverse light doesn’t work. I changed the bulb, still doesn’t work. I changed the switch, still doesn’t work. Checked the port off the switch and no volts seem to pass through it when reverse is selected.
Anyone got any advice of what to do next?
Cheers

Are all the other rear lights working including the fog light ? On the car you might find there is 1 fog light at the driver's side and 1 reversing light at the kerb side, just in case you think there might be 2 of each.

Or you may have a faulty reverse lamp switch on the gearbox.

Not much more to add other than loom ? The housing the bulb pushes into possible break on circuit .
Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.

Yes all rear lights are working bar the reverse light. I understand there is only one but it isn’t working. The reverse switch has been changed and still no volts to the rear light terminal.

Pop your VIN up and I'll see if I can sort a diagram for you. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Hello I have the same problem as Aliboy, no reverse light.
Did you manage to solve this problem?
If so, I would be very grateful for your help.
Best regards.

Could someone help me with the BSI wiring diagram? Maybe there's a relay I could replace that's responsible for applying voltage to the reverse light. When you shift into reverse, the car knows it's in reverse because the reverse sensors activate. I also checked the cable from the reverse light to the plug. The cable is fine. There's no voltage on the reverse pin in the BSI after shifting into reverse. Sorry for my English, I'm from Poland and I'm looking for help wherever I can. Replacing and cloning the BSI is expensive, but I'm trying to do what I can myself. Regards.
