There is Cherry Cake, Real Cherry Cake and then there is Fisher and Donaldson's Cherry Cake. Not until the onset of the Pandemic could you pay by card at Fisher & Donaldson in Cupar and before that you needed a hefty chunk o' siller in yir pooch if you did go in. Their car park was full early this morning - and often is! Expensive? yes. Worth it? yes.

For the first time in many years no one gave me a Fisher and Donaldson Cherry cake for my christmas. Sign of the times I suppose.

It would almost be worth your while to go from Inverness to Carlisle to do your big New Year shopping.

The fuel for the return trip would be cheaper too. How many fuel cans are you allowed to fill?
Your only supposed to fill a 20 litre jerry can or a 5 litre plastic fuel can (properly marked as such, obviously !) but I regularly fill up a jerry can AND 2x 5 litre plastic cans at the same time. No one's ever come running after me so I guess I might be OK  I've often thought - if challenged, I'll say "No problem, I'll only fill the one can" then I'll drive out the exit and back on the forecourt again and fill the other one. It doesn't say how many cans you can carry in your vehicle, just how many you can fill :-D

Same thing with the "10 items or less" at the checkout. Put 10 items on the conveyor then put the 'Next customer please' divider down and then put the other items on the conveyor :rofl2:
