I don't find the Nile St garage anymore on Google but try these https://www.approvedgarages.co.uk/mot-s ... %20durham/

Hi Gents,
If it is the swirl valve diaphragm then it does seem a lot of effort either going all the way up North or getting it transported, if you don't mind me saying so.
Is it possible to skype (etc) your sister?
Its just that it's reasonably easy to plug the tube and cable tie the swirl valves down. My C5 ran like this for years, only downside is that it wouldn't quite rev out (but still got to 70mph no problem)
Obviously this would take a bit of prep time and patience on your side but it would seem less hassle overall.
I've still got the C5 btw and could send you some photos of the relevant engine parts.
Cheers!
Mark

Hey Mark. This is a really kind offer, thank you. I only just saw your message.

The car is at Chevronics and they are working on it now. Seems to be Eolys fluid related but needs a new ECU as old one won’t reset. Seems to be common issue, mentioned on here quite a bit.

It won’t be a completely wasted trip as I will take the opportunity while it is down here to install DAB/Bluetooth for her, some sun screens for the baby and get they tyres off to clean up the rim as they keep going down.

I’m hoping that the 2nd hand ECU on its way to Chevronics will cure the problem and they can program it with the Lexia.

Oh, and they say that the swirl valve actuator seems to work when they apply vacuum with a Mitty Vac (whatever that is!)

The garage on Nile Street is indeed gone now sadly. I ended up speaking to one of the neighbouring units and they said that the Citroen place went out of business about 15-20 years ago! Thanks for the tip though, I will try the Seaside Service Station in Easington next. Do you know if they are familiar with Citroen suspension?

George Fraser, Toward Road, Sunderland.

Has done a lot of work for me and my daughter. Haven't been there for a few years due to logistics.
Citroen knowledgeable but doesn't do electronics.

Thanks yes, I will give him a go of it anything more complicated than the strut return pipes (which I’ve took a gamble on and are being sent to her house I’m on Thursday)
