Better to get a quality one . Dayco, Corteco, Gates etc. Can understand you wanting to cross reference one from Ebay etc but some of them are just cheapos.
One i got is a Febi one(red&white box)looks same as one onit already! but was wondering about rib count this one has 5.Belt looks like 7 but guess have one either side on outside of pulley ribs so makes sense?
They sure don't make it easy esp atmo with things trying to get help/info from them!
Seller is a spares place not in there Bedroom!
Yes, one belt rib hanging over each side of pulley. Febi is decent. Last Febi thing I bought for C5, had Dayco stamped on it, so all good stuff.
Hi well the Dam FEBI failed Only done around 300 miles this evening got the re flash of death once in a while then more then once went to load steering up was heavy found a spot had a gander aux belt came off.
could see pulley wobbly thought maybe come undone? but had done it with impact wrench then torq'd then degs and new bolt with thread lock.
Was getting black bits on hands! and under bonnet know C shaft seal leaks a little but engine oil is clear as only did other day!!!
Anyway got it down road to where needed to be then rang RAC(jumped through many hoops!)He with gloves got belt up and still in one piece! and not wrecked either. But covered in black gunk which has built to a lump where in spray path. So we came to the conclusion that pulley had failed slipping got hot throwing molten rubber around.
Other friend the Royal mail mech reckons it's sat on shelf too long?
Have few options? thats if can get mate to bring T jack round? get it off as don't really want to drive it wobbling mind cooled down now! as scuffed cover!
Drive to get pulley if can without it and aux belt or put old one back on maybe run some glue in the three slots bits on front to bind it? as was noisey but not failed but on way.
But need aux belt also really as got rubber cack on it
