Air Con Failed x7 - just when I needed it

Realised after my last post That I had mis-remembered the fan situation with the Activa. It was the heater fan/blower that had the removable electronic box that could be replaced or opened up to check individual components. But my basic concern remains - someone with relevant knowledge and expertise could usefully investigate the cooling fan on the x7 to see if a repair is possible. Or maybe I was just unlucky, perhaps it's normally a reliable item - unlike steering racks, front struts, wiper motors, window regulators, a/c condensers etc etc.................

The part to replace is called; Boitier servitude moteur, this looks like a big fuse box, the relais is built in to the box, expensive = 247 euros + compressor at 580 E.
