Re: Hard starting diesel
Let me know if you need me to buy them and get them delivered direct, or buy them and post them on!

Yep they reckon only 7 pounds ( my computer doesn't have a symbol for pounds lol ) international shipping so ive ordered some. Why other places charge such exorbitant amounts for shipping is down right robbery.RichardW wrote: 26 Feb 2019, 12:19 Found them on e-bay for £8.09 each, Free UK delivery: BERU plugs - the ad implies that they will post internationally, and the price seems right - £7.50 for a tracked service (only £1.60 for a non-tracked service, but I can't find that on RoyalMail, so I am sceptical! I can try and order them for direct delivery?

Re: Hard starting diesel
Answer to your earlier question, I replaced all four glow plugs on my 1.9 xantia a long while back and don't remember having to take the injector pump off.
I do have feeling, that if it is hard to get at it has never been out, so as previously stated be careful, if it breaks it ends up being BIG job.

The 2 behind the injector pump took an hour to get out and the other 2 took 15 minutes lol, they weren't actually that tight just the access was a pain

Re: Hard starting diesel
Be careful when buying Beru plugs on ebay. I thought I was buying some but when they arrived I realized I hadn't looked close enough.

Re: Hard starting diesel
As has been said, over and over, Beru are the plugs to use, but what if they're not available?
Well, under exactly those conditions, I put Bosch plugs in the Xantia, the evening before a wedding, when I desperately needed a smooth, clean start the next morning and the factors had nothing else.
That was over 60,000 miles ago and they're still in it.
So, based on my own experience, it's not a hard and fast rule to fit Beru glow plugs, though I do still recommend them as a first choice.
Anecdotally, they appear to have the best service life and, God knows, you don't want to be changing the cam end one too often!

Re: Hard starting diesel
It was NGK brand GPs that had attracted some unfavourable comments, so good to have a second recommendation. BERU do appear to have an extraordinarily long life, but don't last for ever, as posts here confirm.
