I'll post use success or not re Renault tail gate mechanism. Better than the only AUD$115 second hand unit I could find and assume new they would be the price I paid for the car

I now have a working button / remote glass tailgate .

The Tailgate Boot Lock Latch Catch Mechanism For Renault Clio Megane 8200947699 on ebay for AUD$35 works with a few small mods.

The 4 pin electrical connectors are the same but you need to cut off the small lugs on very front of the Peugeot 4 pin male plug as they stop the plug going in the new Renault lock - will still fit the Peugeot lock if needed.

Mods to the Peugeot bracket are minor and will not be an issue if you later want to fit a Peugeot lock (but why)

The Renault latch is a lot heavier, seems more heavy duty and a little longer (2mm each side) and a bit taller (3-4 mm) so you need to grind / file the mounting bracket which you can unbolt it.

Also need to make a small cut to the 45 degree metal lugs on the Renault lock as it stops it sliding into the Peugeot bracket (the peugeot one is pretty flimsy in comparison)

You need to drill some new mounting holes and some washers between the lock and the bracket to get the same height.

All up around 1 hour to modify and fit.

I now can't open the window tailgate if you already have main the tailgate open and vice versa (assume this is normal operation to stop you smashing the glass tailgate into something higher)
