Have you tried Gsf? They always used to do stuff like this for Citroen's.

Might not be in an obvious section of their website, cause it doesn't fit into 'normal' suspension parts.

Also, while I agree entirely that it sounds like a bearing, I'm surprised it's that loud and if that bad, that you haven't yet noticed unusual/uneven tyre wear! I'm trying to picture the setup of how the rear ARB attaches to the arm on a c5... Is it the same as a cx, where there's a through bolt towards the outer end of the arm and a second bolt which secures the ARB to the arm nearer the front via a clamp? If so, I would check the clamp very closely. If loose/not properly secured, that would make a loud crack noise like that.

Sounds definitelty like the aforementioned bearings.

One good reason not to take the anti-roll bar off is that then the rear suspension won't get height information :)
But on the other hand if you do remove it, the hardest part of the bearing swap is already done. At least here in Finland, with high mileages and winter conditions the anti-roll-bar bolts can be real pain to get out.

You can buy the bearings from most bearing suppliers. It's a fair bit cheaper, that's how I did mine.

I have a pair of kits for the rear radius arms that I bought some years ago for my Mk1 C5 and never used. They came to light the other day and so they're up for sale if you want them. £50 plus postage (or collect) for the two. I can post some photos if you're interested.
