Recommendations - 1.6 HDI VTX Xsara - 80k

That is exactly what happened about tow/three months ago. Put £20 in it - drove it 9 miles as it was about to give up the ghost - filled tank with shell premium diesel - and she settled down. But since then no oil/filter change.

I'm hoping that a oil/filter change - and then changing again after 500 miles - might get me through????

Definitely needs a new fuel filter as petrol can damage seals, Give her a full service and see what happens, the petrol shouldn't have gone into the oil but I be inclined to drain the tank and flush the fuel lines, it's not expensive and you'll be sure the fuel is uncontaminated.
