Well i've had the call back, they have checked everything and it's the stupidest of things I have a leak from my diesel filter that's coated my wheels from driving through the puddles and made them feel like I'm driving on ice! I didn't even know that could happen but they checked the steering rack and couldn't find any other problems they even checked wheel alignment and toe in but nothing wrong just the diesel on tyres :( such a worry wort. Thanks for all your suggestions though guys (and my steering is normal just I was used to having rubbish tyres so the new ones improved the steering) and they aren't charging me anything as the service I have next week will fix the filter. :)

That is about as good a result as you could get.
Looks as though you have picked a good garage too, they could so easily have fleeced you, they are worth sticking to:)

Very pleased it was nothing major!

It wouldn't have been wise not to worry when it could be a safety issue with grave consequences.

I had similar on a ZX - SWMBO was complaining it was all over the place. Turned out the mechanic (*) had checked the PAS level and not got the lid tight which was dripping down onto the OSF tyre.

(*) i.e. me!!

There were, last weekend, several accidents on the M3 northbound last Sunday. It was due to a coach with quite a diesel leak!;
