Paul-R wrote: 12 Jun 2017, 13:24 What do you mean clear and reload? Exit from FCF or exit the browser?

What I meant Paul was a simple F5 or 'Refresh' won't do anything except load the same cached content. Clearing out the cache and then forcing a reload of the new content (CTRL + F5) will do this. I would suggest that you close all your browser tabs, bar one, then do your CTRL +F5, then exit and restart your browser. That should solve any remaining issues.

Win 7 and IE11 here at work.
xantia_v6 wrote: 12 Jun 2017, 13:29Do you have multiple browser tabs open on the site?
Indeed I do. One each for For Sale, Citroen and Peugeot. Once the forum was back on-line I opened up each tab in turn and Ctrl-F5-ed each one a couple of times before opening up any topic. The machine at work gets switched off each day so it was a fresh instance of the browser this morning, not something left over from last week.

It is possible that each browser tab keeps its own cache (I don't think that Firefox or Opera do that).

The browser cache is saved to disk, so closing the browser or rebooting the PC doesn't clear the cache, and unfortunately there is no way we can force it from the server.

For the record, at that time I hadn't done any ordinary refreshes, they were all Ctrl-F5 then. I am doing ordinary F5s now to keep up with posts but that is well past the time it mattered.

Well, as long as we know that Ctrl-F5 will eventually sort the problem out that's OK surely?

I have discovered that there is a minor bug in the now current version of phpBB software that prevents some smilies from displaying correctly. All "standard" smilies and emojis are working OK, but this site also has some custom smilies (e.g. =D> that should display as Image) that don't work now. This is apparently a known bug and will be fixed.

Great stuff! Thanks for the very quick response on that one Mike...

I'd applaud you with the appropriate smilie but until it's fixed....

That's one little "feature" well worth adding, always used to bug me when I forgot to right click & open in new tab :) Also it's good to have the post time/date stamp on quotes for reference.

Not entirely sure the rest of the work relates to how I personally use the forum (maybe the little "top" shortcut buttons will see some use to save scrolling), but hopefully it goes a long way to addressing the issues some have had with leaving TT & it's all very much appreciated, as is how quickly the work was all completed. Just thought I should say Thank You for the effort you've put in as it's not something many of us remember to say.

I have had reports that this feature is currently only working for some links...
I will investigate.

Paul, a cache refresh will resolve your issue with Drop-downs... I had the same but Ctrl+F5 (on Firefox/Linux) sorted it a treat :)

I have Firefox set to dump everything on exit and all seems to work as intended, didn't need any cache clearing.

Have to say I just middle-click and it opens in a new tab. Autopilot behaviour.

Some have using arcane finger gestures.
Mine has intermittently and randomly but I generally plug a mouse in as I am a bit of a duffer with mousepads.
