Re: What a Way To Go!
Whilst on the subject, I recall my father telling us about one of his young army soldiers in Germany when we lived out there. The young Private was off on holiday touring with his wife and had invited his Granny over for the trip. Unfortunately, his Grandmother expired on the holiday, and they had to transport the coffin back to the army base. Apparently he had to put the covered coffin on the roof rack as this was the only way to transport her back. Whilst on the way back at some point they stopped for a break, but his car was stolen! He rang my father as he didn't know what to do. We didn't get to hear the outcome or what happened to his Granny, but it did happen!

There's at least one CX ambulance (retired) over here - it turns up at rallys sometimes.

Re: What a Way To Go!
The thing that really amazes me about the video is that the video operator pushed the button of the tailgate and it actually worked.
Nine times out of ten I find that the ECU has decided that for some specious reason or other that it isn't going to allow the motor to either close or open the damn tailgate. Frankly I'd rather have a manual tailgate any day.

Do you think it needs recalibrating Paul? If so give me a nod if you want the procedure.

Fantastic. I can't get over the size of the bonnet. That was when you could work on your car. Nowadays you'd have all that in a third of the space!

Re: What a Way To Go!
Funny, it never occurred to me that DS's had particularly long bonnets. Of course once they got shorter they had to devise "crumple zones"
At the ICCCR last year, emergency services vehicles had their own little cavalcade, a good number were DS ambulances, some little more than re-fitted Safaris.
