Remote plip/key will unlock but not lock

I'm glad my 2011 Ion doesn't have new fangled keyless entry either. It's just a standard button operated RF remote key with rolling code, similar to a S2 Xantia or early C5.

Unfortunately the pcb is too badly damaged to solder. I've used One from a spare fob. Now to tune it to the car..

Is the plip reprogrammed on the mk 2 by turning the ignition to position 1 and pressing the lock button. Then turning off the ignition, opening and shutting the door? I've tried this half a dozen times and changed the battery to one I know works and still no joy.

I don't think so, I think you need to do it via Lexia. Does it still start the car?

As Richard says, it can only be done with a Lexia and knowing the CPH confidential code as I explained about 200 posts ago in this very thread

Just had the most worrying 2 hours for a long time. I plugged in the lexia and went through the procedure reprogramming the remote and key, removing the f12 fuse as she's got a/c. Then tried to get her to start..nothing.. Turning over but not starting nor did the remote work.. Repeated this about 20 times checking I had the correct code for the vehicle.. I was giving up, thinking how am I going to sort this? I pulled out the lexia closed the laptop and something made me try one last time and she sprung into life. It must have been the lexis stopping her from starting. Remote works as well.. Am I,happy..thanks for your help.

If you left the Lexia in the key programming part of the CPH the whole central locking and engine immobiliser function of the car is temporarily disabled.

When you back out of those menus completely (using F9) or unplug (best to back out through the menus first) it releases the CPH and it goes back to normal operation.

Sorry Jim, missed that, I went to the faq bit on the forum and it gave instructions for a 94 Xantia fob. Thanks Simon, I just followed the instructions.. I'll know next time..
