Nothing in Arora either.
Will have to look with Ubuntu and on the laptop.
I'm using Firefox 49.0 (Windows 10) - There was another update yesterday Steve, however - using Opera does not display the image:

I think John has used a Google Account for the image - so could be some issue there as opposed to a normal image hosting site possibly...

I don't use Google now, but Firefox still showing it but NOT on Safari

I have just had a look at the address to the image and I'm not surprised it isn't showing on some systems as the link to the image is about 10 lines of code!

I've had the image / no image problem for a few weeks now. There's no rhyme nor reason why this happens as sometimes it doesn't display in a post, then when I go back to the post a few minutes later, it does display.

This should eliminate the need to dismantle the pinion assemble, and will provide a surface that will not be subject to future corrosion. I have used them on crankshafts, but not yet on a steering pinion.
Very interesting that Speedi-sleeve

That was me.

I had the rack refurbished in April last year and by Xmas I had a leak again. The rack was refurbished under warranty and the warranty paid for the labour and a courtesy car so it didn't cost any more.

I got another leak in July this year, this time I could tell it was different, it was dumping huge pools of fluid out, on the drive, on the road, on the garage floor. I filled it up, backed it into the garage and the reservoir was empty the next morning. That turned out to be the seals. And obviously that wasn't covered under the warranty. The garage tried several seals and in the end had to get complete pipes from Citroen.

As far as I can see nobody has managed to get the pipe seals. I didn't do the work myself but I suspect they are bonded to the pipes. It also seems to be quite common that the seals will go after replacing the rack. It may be that the second leak I had may have actually been the seals and was wrongly diagnosed by the garage.

Now I suspect every little drip and am constantly checking the fluid level, so much that I bust the bonnet safety catch. :? (that's one I can fix myself)

So if it's the rack then I suggest getting the pipes, only problem is it's another £300 just for two stupid pipes. If it is just the pipe seals then you'll need the pipes.

You mean the O-ring seals that connect the pipes and the 2 holes on the steering rack?

Yes. The ones Citroen say to replace but don't list.

I've probably missed this and it's been posted before but is there a photo and/or drawing of the pipe end and O-ring?

The tyre company close to me makes rubber seals among a long list of other things, I've managed to get a set for literally pennies ... :D ... so I have that covered

Are they ordinary shape i,e, round cross section? What material are they made of? What size are they?

If they work and the LDS doesn't eat them like it's eaten my driveway, then you could have a money making opportunity there.

To be honest, I can't remember the dimensions or anything else at this time, I do remember that after getting the refurbished steering rack, the guy who did (what I still think is) a great job on it told me that he doesn't provide new rubber seals, and that there is a possibility I'll have to order the new pipes ... which was confirmed by my Citroen Service ... then I went to explore my options, and I've found out that the local company makes a matching rubber seal (don't know what the other usage is, I doubt they're making them just for this specific purpose), and the price was very cheap
