Presumably the so-called 'comfort' spheres are just an extra-large damping orifice.
Would be fun to try. Spare XM, anyone?
Begin to see the attraction of variable-aperture spheres, but I think Citroen got there first (before they gave up altogether).

I fitted comfort spheres to most of my XMs, the ride was softer but not appreciably so, accumulator spheres would have been much better.

Dont acc spheres basically remove any form of bound and rebound? Plus i'd imagine it'd look like a reliant after a while...on its side

You're right. Acc spheres have a simple 5mm hole, and that doesn't provide anything much in the way of damping.
Last time I drove a car with no suspension damping was after fitting my P6B with a set of four Spax adjustable dampers. Thought I would set them on 'minimum' for a quick road test. Couldn't get home quick enough, fighting off the sea-sickness. What a dreadful experience!
