What do you have to do/say/be/allow/suffer in order to be offered an extended warranty?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Re: C5 X7 Driver's Window
I feel for you Paul,
I've had about £4K of warranty work done on it (so far) for the £500 I've paid out on the policy to date that will cover me til March 2017.

Re: C5 X7 Driver's Window
I'd better hurry up and get them to look at the radio reception which is pi$$ poor in my opinion. In Calais and out of reception range for R4 FM I couldn't get a decent signal for R4 Long Wave. I've had my suspicions about FM as well as R4 FM flutters a bit just driving around locally in Wirral.
Then there's the ECU going into Eco mode after five minutes even when the car has just been driven continuously for two hours.
This is really another thread (or two) so apologies (again!) for taking it

Re: C5 X7 Driver's Window
Well new window motor and regulator fitted. Sounds completely normal again and much smoother.
On the subject, I've been looking through some of my favourite Scotty Kilmer vids and came across this really simple tip. I don't know why I didn't think of it before to be honest. I've therefore just whizzed down to Halfrauds (who have a 3 for 2 on cleaning products at the mo by the way) and armed myself with some WD specialist silicone spray. Halfrauds do their own branded silicone spray at about £4 for 400ml and the WD one is about £5 for 250ml - but I'm not sure how good it is, so got one of each
and a load of other stuff.
So I intend to liberally spray this stuff into the windows channels and edges next dry day on all 8 windows (no, I don't have a CX Familiale - just 2 cars)! If you think about it - water is bound to get in the windows (hence drain holes at the bottom) so to hell with it, a good dose of silicone grease sounds like it could help prevent some of these regulators from failing
