Yes, I would consider selling it on. The picture above shows the crack across the pinion housing.The garage that installed my replacement rack said it could be welded quite cheaply. I am in Northampton by the way.

NSL automotive (Coventry) were due to refurb the rack for £130 but stopped after they cleaned it up and noticed the crack. I didn't have time to get it welded as my car was sitting on a ramp taking up valuable space in my local garage so I had no choice but to shell out for a new one 
The rubber gaiters were torn during the clean up (they intended to replace them as part of the refurb).
