Thanks for that. Just posted a question about a fuse too.RichardW wrote: 07 Sep 2024, 13:58 Good work on the belts!
Scuttle is pretty similar to that. Unscrew the brake reservoir, remove the plastic rivets across the front edge, remove 10mm bolt at each end and the torx in the centre, then remove the front cross brace. Remove the wipers. You can then unclip the scuttle from the screen and wiggle it out. There is a drain tube at each end which is a bit awkward. When refitting make sure the drain tubes are not linked, and the scuttle is properly clipped in all the way across the screen - it takes a firm push to get it in.
Pollen filter, not too hard:
Oil change etc.

Getting the pollen filters out was the easy bit. Getting the new ones back is was a nightmare. Mine is slightly different to that. There is no slide rail.
On the scuttle, there are two rubbers drainage tubes which look as though they should discharge above the wheel arch liner but you cannot actually see the route from inside the engine bay.
The tube on the offside has a connector for connecting it to a fixed point. The near side doesn’t and seems shorter than the offside one.

Yes those tubes are different on mine, as long as they are shoved down the edge to direct water into the wheel arch well they are OK.

I think they have to direct water over the top of the wheel arch liner. Not a brilliant design - water being held in certain areas by capillary action when the wheel arch liner touches the outerwing and no doubt parts of the inner wing too where the plastic connectors hold the arch liner. I think to have any chance of directing those tubes properly, one would have to remove the headlights so you can get in and clip them into place. Very fiddlyRichardW wrote: 07 Sep 2024, 20:03 Yes those tubes are different on mine, as long as they are shoved down the edge to direct water into the wheel arch well they are OK.
Anyway, many thanks for your input yesterday. I only had to do fuel filter, air filter, pollen filters, fan resistor module, install all the new undertray clips and put all the undertray and wheel arch liner back off. Still took 8 hours of relaxed faffing around and cogitating about how some others things came apart.
Case in point, my pollen filters were nowhere as flexible as the guy in the video was using and they were getting creased with having to be bent so much to get them in. I didn't even want to go there but I reckon that plastic duct against the bulkhead probably needs removing to allow them to slide straight in as they should. Maybe removal of the pedal box is actually required...
