but it is a fiddly job to do. I have done it, and a write up somewhere on the forum (but no pictures, as both hands are needed to stop things coming apart again).

What about this kit it's the same but almost half the price it mentions it's for xantia 1998 - 2002 sedan/estate, and they also brag about how their kits are better, please let me know if this kit is ok to use.

It should be OK, and all the parts that could fail have replacements. I cannot say if they are better than others, as I have not used either of them.

Is your mechanism like the one you posted e-bay link to? If so, when you need it I can (probably) tell you how to 're-string' it.

I thinks it's the same I had it out and tried to re-string it Sunday evening (don't know how but I managed to keep all door card clips and top lock button in one piece) but looked weird as I wound one wire more than the other, also when you place the black spool thingy onto the cog does it have to be precise because I couldn't remember what position the spool sat on the cog. As soon as I get the parts will PM you.
