Bit of welding is nothing for you is it? :-D
Well, Jim, theres pleanty of time for that, I think. Will just have to see. As long as theres no other serious structual issues I might. I never got the chance to enjoy her on all 6 cylinders as she always had that intermittent miss fire. Which Ive sorted and got a spare coil pack too...

Crap, just remembered too, I sold the Air Bag ECU from her. No doubt theres one in the shed but would just need to find the bloody thing...

Paul, the XMs, especially the V6, have to take priority over a Xantia. It's the law

Ahh but I have an XM Paul and it's got right under my skin... I love my XM to bits and doing 400 miles in it yesterday only deepens the love...

Especially now it's getting on for being fairly well sorted...

John, if it gets scrapped (which would be a shame as it can yield a lot of valuable parts, some I'd be keen to acquire) no boubt it'll be following you there..

Gingers crossed this one can be saved, if only for parts...

Then again, someone with a MIG can sort the sills easily...[/quote]

Jim you might be on to something
As no-one wants to put it back on the road maybe i should just look to move to Hong Kong its only 20 minutes away and they drive on the correct side then export it out here.
learn from the mistakes of others you cant possibly live long enough to make them all yourself

Can I ask what it is that you found was causing the intermittent misfire on yours ? I've had periodic bouts of intermittent misfire on mine for months which I THINK I might have just solved today. :)

The corner it will take is too valuble really.. you need to see the state shes in really on the outside. There is pictures of her on here in the for sale section i think.. probably page 2 or 3 by now.. massive hole in the sill under the drivers door.. easy weld up really.. and really poor rear archs at the back.. lot of the factory seams were panel over panel is welded are showing rust too..

Hmmmmm getting me thinking again. Might do a reasses again and see...

Catch for RichardW maybe ? I'm sure he'd love a fuel guzzling V6 Xantia that needs a bit of welding done.

Nope. Are you planning on rescuing it Tim?

I can guarantee you won't regret it if you do
