The C5 is a great car for a long journey. I can't say I have noticed the drifiting to one side but they can get a bit unsettled by strong winds. That is very impressive economy, I don't think I would have the restraint to be able to achieve that over such a distance. I'm more of a foot down and case the outside lane kind of long distance driver.
They can achieve brilliant fuel economy, I average about 50-52mpg with my HDi Xantia. However, with a bit of trying it can be a lot higher. I've been trying for economy this week to see what it can do and my round trip to work can be done at over 60mpg without needing to drive much slower than I normally 'should'.citroenxm wrote:We done a medium length journey to the east coast last weekend to robin hoods bay.. in the xantia hdi 110 .. averaging aroun 70 to 75 mph i managed an average 52mpg... god knows what she do at 55mph every where.. and i have a tuning box fitted too...
