Can anyone else shed any light on this
I'll check the vac pipes and hoses for splits or get someone to do it, i'll also check out this lexia thing, but if there's no fault codes ect, as i said above though, it's maybe just the way the engine is.
If that's the case it'll either get mapped (and hopefully tell the diffirence this time) or sold!

Re: Should an 03 C5 2ltr hdi be sluggish going uphill
Yep, that's the first thing I did, they're now the same height
I saw a Lexia giagnostic kit on ebay, I might get it (I'll think about it) but seriously, if it's not vac pipes or a leak somewhere, and just the way these engines are.....I might get it mapped, maybe not...or just sell
Thing is too....if I was to get the kit (£120) and all was well...then thought, right last resort is mapped....that's £270!...I'd be chapping the door of 400 bloody quid....just to check for faults and get an engine with the power i THINK Citroen should have gave it from the factory!

Fixed mine this morning, it turned out to be nothing more than a split vacuum hose, see the picture, result no vacuum at the electrovalve, no vacuum at the turbo actuator, no turbo pressure.
It now flies up hills in fifth only having to get down to fourth on the steepest part where I was having before to get down to second.

I must say the C5 110 is no ball of fire, it feels rather flat but you should not be having to drop down to 3rd to get up a hill, 4th maybe if they are steep but not 3rd and most certainly not 2nd.

Re: Should an 03 C5 2ltr hdi be sluggish going uphill
just tried mine on the way home 40mph in 4th steep hill { 1 in 5 clime} pulled like a train no vibration from engine had to change up to 5th near top of hill this with a leaking intercooler so i would say no it should not be sluggish going up hill

Re: Should an 03 C5 2ltr hdi be sluggish going uphill
Gibbo.....what kind of gauge and where/how do I connect it
Dean & Oneday.....I know it's quite a weight but it shouldnt be like this....
@ Oneday....was out this afternoon with my mother, she drives too and even said what's wrong, I was going to 3rd a few times to get up not very big hills
It accelarate's not to bad, not great but ok, but throw in a hill, even a slight one, and that's it, I'm up/down the box like a whores knickers........there's something somewhere not right

Re: Should an 03 C5 2ltr hdi be sluggish going uphill
i,ll agree with you on that its just finding what is causing the problem. did you clean the maf. other things to check for is the intercooler leaking ie oil around the bottom of the cooler and is the map sensor ok

Stu, yours sounds ill, you should be able to tuck it in 5th and stay there for all but the longest, steepest of inclines.

I know, and it is.....but what and where?
I'm seriously thinking of using the Pug till it's fixed....if it's fixed...thing is though,I've changed the ins over (£30) and just taxed a few days ago (C5 that is)
