Ah, you won't need that, other than to shut it up when it reminds you about being out of subscription

Electric cloth seats, S2s are very posh! 8-)

Having just driven home from work, I'm utterly smitten with this car, even in its current state. It truly deserves to be rescued, and I'm aiming for your crown at CXM Dean :)

That's how they get you :-D

I'm very pleased to hear this!

Did you ever read the Activa Buyer's Guide? It's a good basis for spotting anything that's not quite happy but if you're already smitten then yours must be very near good because a bad and ropey one drives bloody awfully

I saw earlier you asked about sport mode and it didn't seem to be working. It will be but it's very subtle on a Xantia and moreso than on an XM. All it does is change the hard/soft switching thresholds and the only obvious effect is a bit of tightening of the handling when really going for it. In normal driving you'll not feel a jot of difference!

I recall little difference on the last Activa, it was more the light doesn't work.

I'm currently looking at my options, but I'm thinking about changing all ten spheres at the moment, that will give me a good place to start, although this could be a waste of money. I did notice after opening the door after filling with some fuel the front seemed to jerk upwards...

In an S2, the light is an LED so that's interesting...

If the dash has ever been in bits it's easy to muddle up what connector goes to which switch. I've done it

This really needs a quick Lexia session. Shame, when you picked up the car you were not a million miles from me...

Can you hear the electrovalves humming?

The jerk on opening at the front is more than likely a flat/ruptured front hydractive sphere.

Have you carried out the hard and soft bounce tests as detailed in the buyer's guide?

Well I have just done the bounce test. I think I got it right.

I started the car, let it pump up then bounced it. Lots of clicking, but it moved (to a point, the spheres are ruined)

I then turned the car off and it was soft (ish), after about 30 seconds I heard the click, and the car went solid.

That sounds to be working then, the clicking will be due to the accumulator being flat/low on gas. Not a happy thing for an Activa.
