Xac, I'm sorry :( I've just dumped 20 litres of used engine oil/LHM/ATF/misc. hydrocarbons at the tip. If I'd have known I'd have let you have it...

Do you want further supplies of waste oil? I can already let you have 5 litres of ATF

Crickey no Jim, the tip is the best place for waste engine oil to go if you ask me, as you say it isn't very pleasant when burnt. Better to have it recycled.
I've only ever once poured in old LHM as I did the change at Finmere without any safe way of disposing or transporting the waste to a tip.
No green smoke :(

I was only joking  Yes indeed, always recycle old oil as it's basically good as oil, it's just a bit dirty and the additives are worn out. A massive percentage ends up back in the 'new' oil we buy...

Most tips have a tank especially for the purpose...

Much better than burning it :)

Had and XUD. Didn't like it a great deal although I was running it on WVO. Got fed up of smiling of used oil and my car smelling of chips. So I blew that engine up,(long story) and got an HDI 110. Different in every respect. Better engine, brakes and gearbox. For £300! Now I get nearly 50mpg at 75mph and I don't smell of pizza and chips.

Only on fresh engine oil, which if you are going to run your car on that then you have more money than sense!
The stuff out of the sump has already had VAT paid on it when you bought it new.
The duty is for using it as fuel.
