Now that's an interesting thought too Steve. The fact it revs cleanly put me off the idea that
there's a fuel delivery issue - in fact it all points to an ignition issue which has me looking at
the ignition module beside the ECU box.

The damned thing seems even more pronounced today holding 2100 revs which makes me wonder
about the general temperature side of things causing the fluctuations!?

So it was the cat then Andrew? I gleaned that from your post in For Sale and Wanted.

What diagnosis determined it?

Jury's still out TBH - a local garage I do give work to (under duress!)
when I can't beat the gremlins myself is still looking at it.

Missed the free retest too. :(

Well, it's a good bet. With HC and Lambda both good the cat has to come under suspicion... Trouble is, without swapping the damm thing it's not easy to prove...
