It's a beam bender Adam. The French drive on the wrong side of the road and they thus find our asymmetric dipped beams a bit of a pain in the eye..

The beam benders do just that and make the dip a little less asymmetric...

Oh, I don't know, after driving from Calais to the first available service station in the 3-wheeler, in the dark and rain, without them (forgot to get them, imagined we could buy them on the ferry and couldn't!), I certainly needed some clean underwear..

just an update from last nights post,

From the AA website:-

Compulsory items in Spain
Warning triangle - one warning triangle compulsory for foreign registered vehicles
but carrying two is recommended as, in an accident/breakdown situation; local
officials may impose a fine if only one is produced. Not required for two wheeled
vehicles.

Only found this for Belgium:-

First-aid kit and fire extinguisher recommended as their carriage is compulsory for Belgian registered vehicles.

Still looking for the regulations with regards to live hedgehogs and kitchen sinks...

There was an item about the breathalyser kits on Radio 4 yesterday. They must display the NF mark, which is the equivalent of our BS. You must carry one at all times, but there are times when you are obliged to use one so in practice you need to be carrying two.
