Sorry Richard, sometimes these things are best approached like crosswords - leave them for a bit, come back, and suddenly you view the whole problem quite differently.

When I read your post just then I realised we needed a photo, and here it is:

The long belt with the chrome bit on the end is the centre belt. The receiving bit, on the floor, is there for the right hand side seat.

The bolt, the only piece I have been given, is in a plastic bag, waiting elsewhere for me to find the bits I need to get the thing back in there. I have no more than that and what you see in this picture.

Ah that's better, I can work out what you need from that, I'll have a poke around my stock of spares and see what I can find for you.

Like DG I'm not sure which fixing you are hving trouble with. However, on an estate service.citroen shows the following:

Outboard connections (ie the long end of the outer belts) fixed spacer - belt - spring / wavy washer - bolt.
Inner connections (ie the ones under the seat, in an estate the RH ones is a buckle and the end of the long belt, the LH one is two buckles) - spacer - belt - belt - bolt

These are the 2 spacers - i can't make out what the dimensions refer to:

8971 15
SPACER
11X20-06

8978 Q8
BELT SPACER
11,2 X 21 - 3,5

The first is the outboard spacer (£1.97), the second the underseat one (£1.26). Same spacers are used in the same locations on the hatch, so you could borrow one from there to get the estate sorted. I doubt the quality of these is critical, being only spacers, so you could knock something up out of a bit of plate, or a few washers.

Thanks RW - have you seen the photo at the top of this page? Should help identify what I have there.

Are those part numbers I could go to a dealer with and obtain?

No...I'd missed the second page - no feeling 100% today!

Yes, those are citroen part numbers - pretty sure the spacer in there is just a thick washer.
