Its actually a diesel fired water heater that feeds its output directly into the heater - brilliant idea for a cold mortal like me, best part of the 406! I get warm air from my vents in about a minute but its about three miles before the temp gauge is anywhere near normal.

Yes it was that kind of auxillary heater that I was referring to and I don't believe that many if any Mk!'s had them as standard

I thought I had seen one or two advertised with them but may be they were a different sort. My 406 has one but it wasn't advertised as having it - and it still works after 10 years!
