XUD :
I can vouch for this ;) I have done mine so many times
if all plugs out, tested on multimeter and battery, and back in and running takes more than an hour, I would eat my hat! :) which I dont want to :(

the hardest job for me is to get the inner turbo pipe back on behind engine...

Of course, if he charges £200 an hour...
Nowhere near that.
He's a dedicated amateur with aspirations to starting a repair shop one day.
Actually partner in a rather large electronics manufacturer here.

WOW!

Mine has a Bosch pump and there was a blanking plate for the colling system just above the glow plug on mine which makes access impossible without taking the top engine mount off!

I even used a crank spanner which was recommended to me as being for the job but almost impossible to get the plug out from behind the pump. I'll post photos when I get the time to download them from my phone (probably in a few weeks!).

And if your guys' layouts are exactly the same as mine - I'll be needing some tips!!!!

Oh! There it is...

Under the 3-way hose which then doubles back onto the blanking plug somewhere under the engine mount!!!

Deep down! Deep, deep down in a fun place!

there she be...

Roth, I have had success now getting the 3-way away, leaving that coolant plate in, and a normal spanner from behind the inj pipes.. my new preferred way.. you can get a turn without much trouble.. and then just about twist her out with your fingers, if you're lucky

There's the crux of the matter.

If you're lucky...

I suppose I'm not! I seem to remember I had to remove the top engine mount upper support to get at something. Never mind! It's done now until I decide to improve the starting by fitting Beru plugs.

Could an excuse to have a trip up to Steve's way and take him out for a pint of beer whilst the plugs are changed!

That 306 is long gone now I'm afraid and I didn't look, just suggested it wouldn't start due to shot glowplugs.
I'll have a look at my son's D-Turbo and see what that is like for access.

I know what you mean about 2 hours for the plug behind the pump!

After my wrestling last weekend - the car has started coughing again!! so another plug must be out!

Back to it again this weekend to find the culprit!

Been a right week of it - washing machine gave up the ghost to and uneconomic to replace so buying a new one tomorrow!

Shame that you don't live in Nottinghamshire. The couple of 22 year odl students that just won £45 million on the Euro Millions - their washing machine had given up the ghost too! :-({|=
