Its Texton not Bitron , I knew I had used the wrong word but could not remember (it has been a few years now) , the Bitron is mainly for the A/C / rad fan control stuff. Texton is wired to the transponder (possibly used on keypad units too)

One point to consider before you rebuild the existing lockset.
As it is a siezed car there is an agrieved former owner in possession of the existing keys and remote.
Might be worth checking in case it was previously a local car.
In the end, I didn't buy it. You can imagine the risk involved in not being able to start the engine. The leather interior was absolutely immaculate. No real creases to speak of but not knowing the 406 leather seats intimately, I didn't know if they generally don't crease. Either they don't or the mileage was extremely low - another thing that could not be verified without a key.
Anyway, I'm sure an aggrieved owner would not appreciate someone knocking on their door asking for keys even with a cash offer. They'd probably think I was from DVLA and knock me out!
