on my htc, i have 'car panel'... anyone know what this is?

Could it be yet another way of using 'naivgation' ... not really sure what 'maps' is either.. i can browse these maps and then get the sat nav to guide me there, but I guess I can do that from 'navigation' anyway? although have not tried..

anyway, still liking my smartphone ;)
Car panel activates when you use the official HTC car dock.
I think it uses Navigator rather than google navigation.

thanks Xac.. will look into this dock thing.. as it is not ideal having the phone in the tray facing up, for navigation purposes ;)

Might as well get a Nokia 3310 (or an iPhone ;) )
Or, if you want smartphone features without all the hassle of it being smartphone go for a Windows Mango based one...

They're magic 8-) Very easy to use with all the features you want/need on a smarthone without all the fluff and absurd geekiness of the Androids.

Nokia, going for Mango, have got it right.

What model is it?
To be honest I've got a ebay holder for my Sensation, think it was £10 and came with a charger, and it's the best holder I've had (just don't let Jim near it ;) )
With a shortcut on my homescreen to my favourite apps including navigation and google maps, I've never needed the official holder.

But Jim, Android can be as simple as you want it to be, and best of all, no wrist slitting depressing lists to deal with ;)

Only because you didn't tilt it down away from the windscreen and ended up ripping it off instead. Sometimes you don't know your own strength!

Nope. Honest and Gov cannot be used in the same sentence as they are absolutely unable to co-exist....

Big thumbs down to the Fleabay Android App.

Basically impossible to shop overseas even if you have a forwarding agent in the seller's country. I hit a pig while on the latest roadtrip and had to "phone a friend" for assistance in purchasing a new headlight.

Just browse to the actual website.
App versions of services provided by websites rarely have the full set of features.

yup, the ebay app for the blackberry is pants! you can view, bid, buy etc. but cant send messages to sellers or leave feedback!! also if i use the paypal app on the phone it assumes im trying to hack into my account and then instantly Blocks my account from any transactions!!
as a few above have, i have a load of bookmark links on my home screen to the full sites, Much easier,

Trying out a BlackBerry PlayBook at work today.
I can see why they aren't selling!
The thing weighs a ton, it is only 7 inches, the web browser is slow to refresh when you zoom in or move around the page.
If you hold it portrait it feels top heavy no matter which way up you have it. I keep hitting shift instead of return.
It is wifi only but has something good called blackberry bridge to connect to your blackberry. I foolishly thought it was an easy way to tether and be able to connect you know what this keyboard ducks ill use the pc to finish.
