Hi Steve, I can see your dilemma but the economics of the situation must outweigh any realistic hope of repairing the car in the UK. Have you considered getting it repaired in Paris?

Even if it was financially viable to repair the car, in France, the resale value would be minimal as the car is not registered in France.

I do travel to France regularly and I am going there this week, but I never go anywhere near Paris in a car, if I can avoid it.

You have an interesting connundrum, but there is only one solution, scrap it. I wonder how you go about that in France given that all vehicles offered for recycling must be documented? You may qualify for the French car scrappage scheme of E600, if it is still running.

All it needs to get back is a battery. Eurostar over to Paris, buy battery, drive back. Must be someone who needs a car, and could dress the collection up as a romantic weekend away for the wife?

I hate the sound of the S word, as I have customers who would LOVE to have an estate! By the time Im ready to buy one there wont be any around!!!

Im however, not in a position to collect this from paris, but maybe from somewhere in the UK!
