They are Robert, especially if you fully colour-code it with the bumpers, sill covers and mouldings:

That /\ was a very smart car indeed! 8-)

Edit - here's an original florentine:

It'd be interesting if I "shop" a dark green metallic s2 to see if it suits the
bumpers etc. I'm not 100% sure full colour coding on any s2 is such a good
idea and it sometimes helps having the definition and separation on the
door cappings and sill trims in black.

That could very well be why that Audi blue at Savoy for a while looked
a bit 'challenging'.

I'm generally against body coloured bumpers. I don't like full painted bumpers on the Xantias and Xms. I prefer the black band to break up the colour a bit, and give the car a bit more definintion.

I also prefer series 1 CXs, they look a lot cleaner with the stainless steel bumpers, although the painted bumpers on the CX GTI Turbo 1 are Ok. I think the plastic bumpers add too much frump the the front and rear over hangs.

I much prefer the colour coding on that florentine car. I've just edited it to show an original Florentine car.

A Photoshop would be good Andrew to see what it could look like! :)

I drove that bottom Florentine car at the Irish National CCC weekend this summer. What a car! Black leather as well, and absolute flyer. Really addictive power and acceleration.

How many horse are those Turbo 2 cars?

Unofficially, standard was 185 horses but official figures were the same as the first s1 turbo1 at 170. So the different turbo and intercooler 'do' make a difference!! :D

Addictive powerrrrr!!!

I'm enjoying the Activa Turbo power this week compared to the 2.1 TD Auto XM.

Hopping out of the Athena into the Turbo 2 was incredible. Id rather a CX GTI Turbo 2 instead of a V6 Xm if I had the money.

One(ish) of each is the best "compromise"!

Diesel is something you have to 'do' like paying taxes etc, but petrol is what you 'do' if you're allowed to!

Now that's what I like to hear Robert! :)
CX GTi Turbo prices are on the up so grab one cheap if you can! This one (classified ad expired on £2595) didn't look a bad car, especially with MOT, a bit of Tax and some new TRXs!

What gets me is the series 1 GTi Turbos...there's hardly any about. I know that you've got about 5(?) Andrew, but then there's CGOO, a swordfish grey one, black one (C777 EYD) in Scotland, silver one (B495 CVH). There's also the very special B370 EBL in Nigel's Church.
I also remember a while back of a blue one on eBay that was a project but had silly miles of about 12K.

Anybody know of any other surviving ones?

I do have a particular soft spot for these metal bumper turbos I must admit.
Incidentally, I can 'match' Nigel's Motor road test car with the blue EBL one on the front cover of Motorsport! It still has Citroen Uk plates and handbook pack in your CGOO blue. What's the deal with Nigel's - low miles or just a Slough test car?

I'm torn whether the silver is best or the swordfish. Or maybe the blue? :P

I agree, you get the looks of the S1 bumpers and still get the power.

Your blue EBL car sounds very interesting indeed! :) I haven't talked to Nigel about his Turbo, but according to Citroenet it was Citroen's press fleet car. Here's some links to a test with it in:

Personally, I think silver looks the best, but it's very nice to have the slight tinge of blue in CGOO and in some lights it does appear silver. Black again good but evil to keep clean! I'm as undecided as you!

Have you got any pictures of your Turbos?

I'm going to change Handles, door cappings, rear Window suround etc to stainless. Bumpers and sill cover colour match and no side bump trim.
I think painting a CX Green is a risky task but I do have a liking for Green Cits.

Though I can change my mind if I want :? Florentine Red 8-)
