mine has the same problem
I took a switched live from bm34 and joined directly to live feed wire(pink) at front of fuel tank.

That's basically what I did to our old Xsara to bypass a problem in the fusebox or power feed somewhere. As the wire was good from the fusebox to the pump I was able use most of the existing wiring (including the inertia switch) , all I had to do extra was a switched live feed through an extra fuse.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
