Did mine using stands, but took it off the stands every time to check the ride height. Takes a while but it does work. My trusty trolley jack helps a lot.

Oh yeh, while I'm here. If you change both drop links at the same time, like with on person each side doing a side each - this is on my garage owning friends wheelfree lift, don't push both sides of the antiroll bar up at the same time, as it changes the ride height.........

"there are actual mesurements from points on the underside of the sub frame's to level ground"

Anyone got these mesurements? (Even measurements will do)

In the Book of Lies!

Haynes manual. Have fun adjusting!

You can use Jim's gauge. 3 fingers front. 1 finger rear. Works well.

Here you go:

http://homepages.igrin.co.nz/simon/imag ... ia_height/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Three fingers and one finger is better than nothing, but for optimal ride quality and handling the height is pretty important - within 10mm ideally.

Just as important is whether the height correction is accurate upon repeated testing and settling from both above and below - if there is a large difference between the height it settles on when dropping versus rising, the dog bone link might be worn out (too much slack) or the linkage assembly is partially seizing. Ideally the height will be no more than about 5mm different when correcting in each direction. (Take the mean of the two measurements as your actual height)

I too received the dreaded hot rod look in the week, turned out the nipple that the dog bone sits on had sheared off the height adjuster unit.

Off it came and welded it back on with the help of my friendly neighbour, cleaned it up, realised i couldnt get any hydraulic unions just now for the other unit and put it all back together.

..or so i thought, yes my rear is low ( no finger space at all ). Think i'll try ramps on a hill and re adjust the valve unit as i didnt move the anti roll bar clamp....

Identify the white dog-bone link to the height corrector and follow it back to the Anti Roll Bar. There you'll see a clamp around it with an extension connecting to the dog-bone.

Slacken the 11mm bolt in the clamp. Caution. It will be tight/corroded so douse well with Plus-gas first and go easy on it. You don't want to shear it. Rotate the clamp slightly to alter the ride height. I think if you rotate the clamp toward the rear of the car it'll increase the height.
What does that "I think if you rotate the clamp toward the rear of the car itl increase the height" mean ? Rotate clockwise OR anticlockwise when I look the clamp from the right side of the car ? (That means from passanger side when the car has left hand drive steering like here in Finland)

Look at the way the roll bar is connected to the wheels and work out which way the roll bar would turn for a height increase or decrease.

Adjust the height corrector clamp in the opposite direction to this.
