Silly prices, although according to a trade price guide, my old Activa was only worth £420, sickening really.

blimey entered my details for my S reg xantia estate 1.9 TD and it came back £70 well having spent £850 getting her all up together in the last 2 months I,m appafently £780 out of pocket, I'd love to see them find a motor with a years MOT and Tax full service history, new cambelt serpentine belt, water pump, new tyres and overhauled supension all round on it that runs on filtered Waste Vegetable Oil. all for £70.

PETER, If xantias are appreciated as much as the BX was they will soon be worth quite a bit of money for one in good condition. for the time being only to those of us who really appreciate them.

I agree about Xm and Xantia prices rising, many people want easier to repair cars with less modern electrics (i can see why). Ive also heard a few C5 owners who have previously had Xantias saying that they find their C5 too big, and might downsize next time. Though some who like the suspension dont have a choice, unless they go back to a Xantia. One C5 we had was traded into a citroen indy for a Xantia after the owner found it too large.
Xantias and Xms are proven to be reliable now. Its odd that at one time some garages wouldnt touch Xms for their repairs, but now you cant fault them, very reliable cars. Takning into account that the youngest Xm and Xantia is now 10 years old, they do stand the test of time. I mean how many old mon.deos do you see, very few as the metal worn has set in.
I cant closely compare an Xm to a C5 for reliability as i use the C5 daily and the Xms infrequently, but the Xms are much much less hassle to own, go wrong less often and if they do they are easier to work on and repair, generally. If im doing a long drive then i do prefer to take an Xm, its just such a nice place to be and its almost bombproof. Im fed up with having to do things to this C5 now, im very bored with it. Im just wondering on how long ill have it. Might swap it for a nice 2.1 manual Xm hatchback, if i could only find one.
