Xantia Trait ?

I noticed on our V6 that if you boot it the back end squats right down and when you let off and maintain a constant speed it feels like the back of the car has shot up into mid air!

My girlfriends HDi Exclusive does it also.

It's reet annoying!

Ive noticed my xantia estate takes a dive on the rear end after comming off the A14 after doing 70 ish at the top of the sliproad, whilst the rear end recovers and levels out again other drivers become distracted and look on in wonder of what is going on...lol

My girl friends HDi Exclusive heaters go faster when you brake but I've never had the inclination to find out why!!

I'm doing a few jobs on it tomorrow so I might plug it into the Lexia and see if there's anything kicking around on the ECU codes.

Kev, yes

My HDi did it and my Activa does. I've seen it mentioned here before but can't recall what the explaination was.

After 5 years of ownership, I noticed this same thing last week. Maybe it only happens in cold weather? (heater fan speeding up when brake applied)

Sucking in more air increases the internal pressure which weighs the car down, thus helping to slow you down.

That`s a good explanation Xac. When air builds up in cabin you come to a halt at the lights. You lower the window and look over to car in next lane enquiringly. As they lower their window thinking you require attention you say......."Oh did you fart too"........

In other news, electronics work by having smoke trapped inside. I know this because I've had electronics where the smoke has escaped and not worked afterwards.
