That shows you how fast i have been working on this car, i'm still fixing it !!.
In my defense, i decided to do a full overhaul on the head and fit new water pump, tensioners, cam belt and aux belt and crank damper pulley
I put the new waterpump in and reconnected the turbo pipework and refitted the cam belt and half fitted the cam belt covers today before it got too dark, so its comming along.
but to be honest, i dont drive cars much, its more of a hobby and for when the weather is too extreme for me to ride my motorbike in, so i'm in no rush to finish it off really, but it will get done in the end !
My aircon works fine if i use a topup can, i did repressurise it before christmas, but the cars been off the road for the last month, so i cant test it till its running again, hopefully it will be working by the weekend, but i'm not in a huge rush to do it at the moment with the nice weather we currently have !

Ok, the pressostat is there to maintain the pressure in the air con and it does this by using the fans on the two speed options and switching off the Compressor clutch, if the pressure is too low the contacts never make so it leaves the fan circuit open, why the temperature sensor does not override I can only assume it's because the ECU is confused. The clear indicator of this is the test you did when you pulled off the Temp sensor plug and it put the high speed fan on. There is a relay that can go faulty down the left side of your radiator (as you look at it) near the pressostat but this is ok if it kicks off as aforesaid. You probably notice that the A?C always switches on when you first start it, this is to ensure it does keep pressurised in normal running.
Since you have it in bits make sure you check the Turbo inline filter in the block and also don't forget to prime the turbo full of oil before you start it up, incidentally a small amount of play on the turbo shaft is normal - it floats on a cushion of oil.
Did you check it for oil leaks before you took it apart - they are a pig to change later. You can check this by looking in the lower air intake pipe to see how much oil is in the bottom.
